Gills Fish Bar

First, and definitely the last visit to this establishment. Asked for well done haddock, when it arrived the batter was soggy the fish undercooked and certainly not white. The chips were also undercooked and cold. Good Friday and the shop was empty. That probably tells its own story,

Very good food, fish was great. Short waiting time and nice atmosphere.

This is a lovely fish and chip shop and I have attended it for year. it is really clean and the staff are friendly. I think the food here is nicer than from the nearby fish quay. my one and only tiny gripe - which could also be a bonus - is that quite often you need to wait for fresh fish to be cooked (about five min) but it is worth it. It is not greasy at all contrary to another review.

Worst fish shop I've ever been to. 1 person serving, 1 person frying in busy peak times and had to wait 20 minutes for a greasy set of fish and chips, food was absolutely terrible as my stomach got upset twice
