GIGACLEAR a cautionary Tale
We are a small number of houses on private property,
We received a letter from Gigaclear requesting access to our property by way of a wayleave agreement ,
We choose not to ,so did not reply. Some weeks later we then had a wave of sub-contractors come
onto our property over the coming months, first one 10.00pm at night ,they were trying to clean the
ducts that carry our existing BT cables, then another he is simple putting alarms on the drains, yes water companies do but not on BT drains, he was trying to install a draw wire with a suction pump to eventually pull the Fiber optic cable in. And yes , more turned up ,All were asked to leave , none had permission to enter our property which Gigaclear knew. Gigaclear has about 6 providers to choose from . Openreach has165 on their Fiber optic cable Network. Ofcom has been informed
We are rural but will wait until they are in our area. Resident Kent

Very fast internet just as advertised, shame they don't give proper tools to the install engineers

I have to disagree with the other reviews here but it sounds like I've been lucky! It would have been a big surprise when they came to do the pre-install, had I not been away on holiday so I never even knew it happened! Still they say no one needs to be home and that's completely true. Luckily I don't have a huge front garden and they installed the line down to the house without any disruption at all and left the garden completely fine.
The engineer who came to me was a really nice guy and explained everything he could and the internet is high-speed! I have to 400MBps package, which consistently speed tests at 350-450mbps up and down, over VPN or otherwise. They contract their engineers and don't provide them with much kit than an STS drill, which was fine for my house but could be a problem for some properties.
Still, the connection has been flawless and I've tested it well and is half the price I was paying before for almost 10x the speed (almost 30x the speed for uploading!)

I had a completely different experience to all the negative comments posted here.

Ordered my Gigaclear Package on in May 2024 and booked the installation date on the next available slot in June.

The pre-installation was done the day after the order was placed which was amazing, and according to the order confirmation email no one needs to be home for the pre-installation so not sure why one reviewer had an issue with it. The fibre and equipment installation took place on the date scheduled and my full fibre broadband went live the same day.

I can't comment on other negative reviews here but I thought I'd set the record straight with my own experience which was short of amazing overall. Highly recommend this Gigaclear company based on my own experience.

Awful - avoid at all costs

Avoid this company at all costs!!
Never do what they say they are going do. Arrange installation, send out contract/direct debit info then deny even having spoken to you. Then send you a bill. Spoke to 3 different people who assured me they would help and sort my issue and arrange an installation date and no one ever calls back. Disgusting customer service.

Firstly, never told me about someone coming to my house to do a pre-installation. the contractor just turned up (good job I was at home).
They were due to install on 15/03/2024. I even called on the day and they confirmed all was fine and engineer due to arrive. no show - called them up again, they then inform me that they've had a system change which has caused issues.
Its has taken them 5 working days to come up with no resolution, the senior advisor didn't have the courtesy to email or call me after the briefing and explain why it never happened. after I requested daily updates!
they then said they couldn't offer me an immediate date because they're - personally when you know you've messed up then the customer should be on a priority list.
tried to cancel, the loyalty team did they very best by offering 6 months free! As I said, the service is the most important - he too couldn't offer me a date. I don't want free months, I need the service.
