Renovating my house was fairly scary - particularly when it came to choosing builders when most friends tend to want to share their horror stories and how things didn't turn out well.I can honestly say that the biggest stroke of luck was being put in touch with Gibbs and Lugg through multiple recommendations. There are a number of reasons for this. Firstly, they did what they said they were going to do in a timely and organised fashion.My site foreman was excellent, always available by phone and consistently on site.He itemised every part of the spend and discussed with me clearly options that were available.He coordinated all elements of the reparation,but it was more the manner in which he and his tradesman conducted themselves with.They were polite, industrious, cheerful and as a team, always made me feel at ease that I was getting true value for money.If things weren't quite right they quickly out them right and throughout the whole process were honest, hard working and efficient.

Absolutely first class job. They turned up when they said they would, worked to a very high standard and completed the task on time and on budget. We would use them again if the need arises and will recommend them to anyone needing building work.

Gibbs and Lugg recently completely modernised two bathrooms in my home. They stripped out the old and installed the new - wall tiles, floor tiles, sanitary fittings, electrics, lighting. The strip out was done quickly and cleanly, with all arisings removed off-site with no fuss. The installation of all the new services and fittings was without exception done to a high standard, across all trades. I was consulted and kept informed throughout, with telephone calls to schedule work sessions convenient to me, and regular supervisory visits to check progress and resolve any snags. I recommend this company to any client who seeks the best.

We definitely made the right decision in choosing Gibbs & Lugg for our big refurbishment project on our home in Teignmouth. Highly experienced and competent builders, we felt in very capable hands throughout.

They worked well with our architect Gordon (from Scarratt & Martyn) and were always attentive towards us, listening carefully and acting on any concerns. Key players included director Marcus, who attended site nearly every day, who, together with foreman Martin gave us confidence from the outset. But the whole G&L team and their sub-contractors were unfailingly pleasant to be around and eager to please. We were most impressed at their level of skill and workmanship.

Problem-solving as work progressed included giving our new kitchen a lovely smooth ceiling by hiding the necessary steels beneath the bedroom floor above. Look, no beams!
