Excellent service

Mel was excellent. He saved the van for me for a few days on a very small retainer even though this van would have sold very quickly. He has kept hold of my car for a week and stored it while I took the van.
I'd recommend anyone to buy a van from him.

We bought a Hymer motorhome from Freewheel in August. As slightly nervous and inexperienced buyers we really appreciated the time Mel took to talk through options with us. There was no hint of pressure selling, just a very open approach. The vehicle is a great fit for our needs and has been completely fault free. Geraint took us through the whole vehicle during the hand over and was very patient and thorough. I have called Mel a couple of times since, just to ask questions and check how to do things and each time he has been very helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend Freewheel leisure, Mel is very knowledgable and makes the whole buying process as stress free as possible.

Recommend highly

First class from start to Finnish. Highly recommend this dealer. Flew down from Scotland got picked up at airport by Mel himself on his day off. Everything was as described with no problems. He even filled it up with fuel for our long journey home. Genuine nice guy. Thanks

Bad experience

1
We allowed Mel to sell our old Hymer but he told us it was returned and he refunded the money to the buyer as it had broken down. We recovered it and found it had overheated and blown the engine after 100miles. We'd driven it 157 miles to Mel with no problems. It was left in his care with full mot and habitation cert but was returned to us needing extensive repairs. There was no change in registration to the new owner and no change in tax! Strange?? Mel is not as honest as he would have people believe so be very wary. In our experience I would not trust him.

I'm very disappointed to read such a negative review from a customer that I went out of my way to assist in selling a 30yr old vehicle despite advice against it from trading standards, & the fact that you were actually asked by myself if the vehicle had overheated on the way to me due to the brown coloured water sitting on top of brand new battery. When this was pointed out to yourselves you replied 'No' so maybe it's more a case of you are the ones who are maybe not as honest as you would like people to believe in this instance?? This, along with an endless list of MOT advisories & habitation certificate that showed 'seriously high' damp readings would have been more than enough for any large motorhome dealer to turn it away. I agreed to try & sell it on your behalf as you bought a newer Hymer from me (I notice you fail to mention in the review the service you received) I managed to get a buyer, who broke down due to overheating & having to call 999 emergency services,..cont

the sale was cancelled & monies returned by card before admin staff even had chance to change V5 log book details. Road tax is the responsibility of the keeper so we cannot comment on that. Retrieval costs of the vehicle to our premises were £250 which you haven't been asked to pay for! I have received no complaint or communication from you since 24th October when we kindly passed onto you a list of mechanical problems with the vehicle. We can provide proof of ALL paperwork, receipts & CCTV footage that the vehicle never left our premises until the sale, so to imply that I am not honest, when given the actual facts above is nothing more than a personal attack, this could have turned out a lot worse & I think it's extremely lucky that the honest customer that bought it from me was lucky enough not to have been seriously injured! I feel very sad that reviews are supposed to be based on an 'honest' opinion & this is anything but that
