Awful company stay away!!

Absolutely awful firm, changed supplier within the cooling off period and they wanted to charge me £100 per gas and electricity meter to close the account. Even though they were told during cooling off period and have insisted since they weren't. They have had an affect my perfect credit rating and I can not raise a mortgage to pay off my dead partners son the portion of the house they have got in trust, which would help immensely with their future without their dad.

What a joke First Utility is and now they have been taken over by Shell its worse. I cancelled my utilities with them and am still waiting for a credit of £117 to be put into my account after 9 weeks. Quick to take money and now they tell me that they will pay me soon but cant tell me how long soon is. I have now cancelled my fathers and my brothers utilities with them. Been holding on the phone to speak to a manager for 26

Avoid them

Add hidden charges £30 PER FUEL (for sour grapes) when you close account....... might be all well and good if they told you up front or even if you were product hopping (not that that's even quite right) but when you have sold the property? . just extortion! Proven by the fact that they CAN waive the charges, if you take their service with you to your new property. From now on i will avoid them. £60 for nothing! Nice little earner. Not a good way to hang on to your customers.

Think you'll find that they are not the only ones to charge this.
