A new commission, I made this desk for an exhibition now on in central Sheffield. The desk evokes classic 20th century furniture while being bang up-to-date in construction and finish. A large, slim drawer adds lots of storage for stationery and laptops.
These shelves create a huge amount of strong storage as well as being beautiful to look at and use. The shelves are pieces of local oak, and the uprights are made from reclaimed iroko.
Made from solid pine joined with dovetails, and with a reclaimed pine top. These benches create the seating in a Sheffield café, and they provide lots of storage for the cafe's stock as well as comfortable and attractive seating for customers.
Made using traditional and time-honoured methods of carcase joinery, this chest of drawers also uses the most up-to-date methods of manufacture. Computer-generated geometry helped create the extraordinary curved drawer fronts that form the handles. A stunning piece that the customer loves.
The elm for these little stools came from the Peak District, and we turned the ash legs ourselves. Each seat was carved with the initials of the grandchild it was for. A beautiful and unique gift.
One of a pair of desk for a couple in London, these were made from air-dried oak, quarter sawn to bring out the beautiful pattern in the timber. The drawers are solid birch plywood, running on silky-smooth runners. The desktop is curved between the lower and upper surfaces.
This cabinet is made entirely from oak, ash and walnut hardwoods. The lower doors are panelled in brown oak, and the top space has three adjustable ash shelves. Hidden magnets keep the doors closed.
This piece is made from European oak, and features space for an amplifier and TV boxes, with an open back for cooling airflow and easy cabling. The front is glazed with toughened glass, and the piece is French-polished to give a beautiful, mirror-like finish
Built for a curved wall in an extension, these shelves change depth as they travel from left to right, from 15cm to 35cm. A curved desktop, its beginning just visible on the left-hand side, continues around the room for another 5m.
All the cabinets in this stunning kitchen are made from solid birch plywood, and the doors and drawer fronts are all made from reclaimed building joists. The worktop is made from reclaimed oak joists, and the warm colours combine to make a cosy, inviting space.
One of a pair of wardrobes with a beautiful hand drawn image routed by a computer guided cutter 1.5mm into the surface of the birch plywood doors. It creates a subtle design in relief that catches the light.
Part of a commission of five large sculptures, this sculpture is a huge piece, 2.4m high and 50cm wide. It's made by layering birch plywood together and sanding to form a single form. All the pieces are in a Doncaster restaurant.
This stunning piece is the most complex cabinet we have ever made, and like the huge amplifier it houses, it has a quietly powerful presence. It houses a home cinema system in a central maple cabinet, revealed when the door is folded down and slid into a recess below, and the long drawers hold CDs.

Shoe cabinet - better than we ever imagined!

We had a small area that we asked Finbarr to build a shoe cabinet for. He instinctively knew what we were after and produced the perfect cabinet, more beautiful than we could have asked for and as practical as we had hoped! The quality is spot on, attention to detail is without fault. I would certainly recommend Finbarr, he was very communicative and responsive and explained the status along the way.

Beautiful Yew Bed

We had asked Finbarr to make us a new bed frame from some beautiful yew. The whole bed is stunning, with the headboard being a particular highlight. We took an entire board of yew, with the natural rough bark edge forming the top of the headboard, and married this to a length of plain black walnut, which had been cut to match the natural curves of the bottom edge of the board. When yew is polished up, it has a glass-like sheen to it, which is absolutely stunning, and really shows off all the subtle hues within the wood. There is a lovely contrast between the rough natural edges, which have been left 'as is', and the smoothness of the polished areas. There is real love and thought and design that goes into Finbarr's creations, and we are so delighted with what he has made. Finbarr took great care in understanding the design that we wanted, visited our home to take measurements, drew up some initial plans, agreed a price, and kept in touch with us throughout the entire process.

Master Craftsman and master of customer service

Master Craftsman and master of customer service. Finbarr manufactured a mid century style TV cabinet for us and what he produced was of a high standard. I gave him the drawings for the cabinet and he worked from them with a great eye for detail. Throughout the manufacturing he kept in touch and even delivered it for free! If you are looking for a skill craftsman to make you some bespoke furniture then Finbarr is your man.
