Fern Lodge Boarding Kennels and Cattery is a family run company, which has been established since March 2006, situated in Pensilva near Liskeard, South East Cornwall. We specialise in looking after dogs, cats and other small animals

Our aim is to provide the highest standard of care for your pets and you can rest assured that security, comfort and hygiene are our top priorities.

Being fully insured, licensed and approved by Cornwall County Council, we welcome inspections. If you would like to visit us prior to making a booking, then please get in touch and one of our knowledgeable and friendly staff, will be more than happy to show you around our facilities and answer any questions that you may have.

Ideally situated between the A30 and A38, Our kennels are in a quiet rural setting, we offer individual care and attention for your pets, when you are away from home, on business, or relaxing on holiday.

We now offer a dog walking & dog sitting service Liskeard, Callington, Saltash and Plymouth areas

We also offer home boarding to live as part of my family, with lovely walks, love and cuddles.

good with animals. Worn looking business.

Initial external impression of the kennels is that it is tired and run down. The sign for the kennels off the main road is worn, broken and faded. The access road to the kennels is full of pot holes and craters.
The kennel hands looking after the dogs and cats are brilliant, which is why I have given a very good rating. They go the extra mile to look after the animals and take photos to show how much the dogs enjoy their play time. They appear young but are well mannered and clearly love the animals.

Doggy day care

My dog has been attending Fern Lodge for day care since she was a puppy. I cannot fault their care for her. They go above and beyond to make sure she is well looked after. Would highly recommend for both day care and boarding.

Your little girl is such a sweetheart she thinks it’s all hers that she is the boss. She has learnt just because your tiny doesn’t mean you can’t act big lol her saying is little dogs rule big dogs follow in line. lol love her x

Lovely accommodating Team at Fern Lodge!

Fern Lodge were a Godsend! My husband had booked a surprise trip abroad for my birthday and our local kennels had closed down and all the others nearby were full so we had to look farther afield and almost had to cancel the trip because everywhere was full! Fern lodge were so accommodating and lovely and put my mind at ease (I hate leaving the dogs!) Even though it was an alien environment to lady and larka,, I could tell when we collected them that they had been well looked after. And their teeth and coats looked in great condition! I am fussy about the dry food I give my dogs but might try fern lodge’s diet now! They are 2 white German shepherds so take a bit of exercising and entertaining. I loved that the girls take the dogs out several times a day, even if for just short bursts running around the paddock. Thankyou Fern Lodge Team. You saved our day!

Repeat customer and happy experience

They are friendly, helpful and willing to provide more reassurance than most.
Our dog came from a rescue centre, so he can be nervous when taken to new places, especially when left with new people. He has loved it here, he has had a great time with them, he has been able to play, run about and enjoy the staff.
This is the 2nd time we have used them and will use them again.

Weekend holiday for our dogs

First time we have booked our 3 fur babies into boarding kennels. We were abit nervous as all 3 dogs have different personalities. We were worried about our chocolate lab as it takes her a while to get used to new people, and she can seem quite intimidating to with her boisterous barks. However, from the moment she arrived she seemed calm and relaxed and there was no barking from her at all,the staff were allowed to stroke her which we were amazed about.On arriving to pick them up all 3 were out playing in the paddock and were having such a good time, they didn't recognise us pulling up until we got to the gate.Very satisfied with the service our babies received all 3 were happy and clean when we picked them up.Their kennel was big enough for all 3 to stay in together which was nice as they spend all their time together at home.All the staff were helpful and reassured us the whole time that the dogs would be fine, which they were.100% Recommend Fern Lodge, we will use again.
