Business overview

FENSA stands for the Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme. Following Government encouragement, FENSA has been set up by the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) and other industry bodies in response to Building Regulations for double glazing companies in England and Wales.

When replacing windows and doors, homeowners must comply with current thermal performance standards and ensure they get a certificate from FENSA or Local Authority Building Control. FENSA enables companies that install replacement windows and doors to self-certify compliance under these Building Regulations without the need for a separate assessment from Building Control.

Dreadful

1
Impossible to speak to anyone about a minor problem. I would not describe FENSA as a trade body.

FENSA - not an impressive customer service

2
I've recently had a bifold door installed by a company that advertises it's registered with FENSA. So far the installation is ok. I've repeatedly asked the installer for a FENSA certificate. Each time the installer advised the project has been registered with FENSA and that FENSA will send me a certificate. I've also repeatedly asked the installer for a written 10 year guarantee for the work it carried out. I'm repeatedly apologised to by the installer for not issuing the guarantee and advised one would be emailed to me 'later that day'. No such emails have been received. I'm beginning to wonder if the installer is a bit 'dodgy'. I've repeatedly tried to contact FENSA to check if my project has been registered and if so when I will receive my certificate. It seems all but impossible to make contact with FENSA by phone. I just get transferred to voicemail to leave a message. I somehow think that is a big black hole - messages in but no responses out. Not an impressive service.

Waste of time

Lines are permanently engaged or voicemails full. Another self regulator with loose gums and no teeth.
