Dreadful. Service dreadful. Quality of work dreadful. Time to complete dreadful. Non existent paperwork after new boiler installation.

We called Mallinsons out to deal with a trickling overflow on the hot water tank in the loft. A new ballcock was fitted for which we were charged £120. We did not quibble over the cost but were disappointed to subsequently find a crack and brown water stains in the ceiling after the plumber had left. We have used Mallinsons for many years and have always found them to be excellent in every respect. However it would appear that there has recently been a change of owner since address on the invoice is no longer in Brighouse.

took my 78yr old dad for a fool. Don't use this firm. Quoted £200 for a job sort 2 bath taps out and remove bath as Taps were wall side.(fair enough) my dad removed tiles and bought new taps, cap covers for old tap location and was told the new tap would go at one end etc. When it came to payment,my dad wanted to pay money by bank transfer. The Man(who said he now owns F&R Mallinson after working there for 10 yrs) convinced my dad if it was bank transfer,he would have to charge more as it would go through his 'Books' and would charge VAT on top. He followed my dad to the ASDA cash machine and told my dad he now wanted £250 cash when they got there. My dad surprised, but gave it to him. Tradesman taking more money off elderly, out to target people. Avoid. If this man was not the actual owner as he's claimed to be and just the plumber working for them, he needs sacking. The director on companies house need informing he is doing cash jobs and ruining their reputation

The firm who installed my boiler unfortunately had gone bust. So I looked up "recommended local approved engineers" on the Vaillant website. I spoke to Phillip Mallinson this morning ref our boiler leak.

Though he did not have to, he contacted Vaillant Boilers with respect to the warranty for me and then within 5 minutes rang me back confirming the unit was still covered. He has arranged for an Engineer to be with us first thing tomorrow.

Brilliant service. Great to know there are still such engaged, supportive and professional family companies around.
