Bad, bad, and more bad.

Just went to view this place. Absolutely appalling. The rooms are ridiculously small, untidy- and stained. Holes in the walls. Extremely cramped, and I’m a 5’7 woman. I can imagine that I’d have to take photos before signing onto this place to prove the paint stains weren’t mine all over the super small show-room sofa… and it would probably still not stand and I’d loose a deposit. I’m not new to the Student Lettings Agencies, and granted, you won’t find anywhere that’s any different. But saying that, have your wits about you… £1020 a month is too much for a place pretending to look more expensive than it is- remember if you’re on the maximum student finance as a first-third year student, this property would be costing you almost your entire student loan so, that leaves you with less than £300 a month to live…
For a room with holes in it, and two college washing machines for a place that has 5 floors with 30 rooms… save your money.

Yours truly,
Someone who dodged a bullet

Rude and scam students

2
Rude and unprofessional when we disputed the ridiculous deductions from our deposit. Yet another letting agent that makes students suffer for their gain. We were charged £55 to have hooks removed off the back of a bedroom door which were there when we moved in, when we disputed this all we received was a rude response and a mere £5 taken off the original deduction. We were charged for £50 for cleaning fees in which we left the flat in a cleaner condition to what we moved into, and when we asked to see the receipts for the “third parties” they used for the cleaning services they were unable to provide this, therefore to me, shows that no professional cleaning was done and they charge there tenants for this.

I’ve known many people in the past having similar complaints about these issues, especially in terms of never receiving the full deposit back, but we had heard there was a new turn around of staff so gave it a chance. We regret this and will never go back to this letting agent.

Exchange residential are polite and thorough.

Exchange Residential are an efficient organization, they have to be, they manage a large number of properties and as a result, hundreds of tenants are routinely satisfied with their service. Like any business, you get disruptions when staff are not available through maternity leave, illness, Covid isolation etc , but in my experience, Exchange Residential balance their time well and deal with 99% of their workload speedily and importantly, with a polite and easy manner.

Disgusting estate agency, avoid

1
If you're looking to be insulted, ignored, and robbed of all your money... this is the estate agency for you!

You can look forward to extortinate fees for ridiculous reasons. If you have a problem with this, don't worry. The 'friendly' staff of Exchange Residential will always be there to ignore you for weeks at a time, forget to read your emails, and rinse you of every last penny with vindictful glee.

Despite their apartments regularly being grimy, ratty, and (most excitingly) a health hazard when you move in, Exchange Residential will attempt to take your entire deposit even if the place looks better than when you moved in. Even Kim and Aggie wouldn't get their deposit back.

Best of all, Exchange Residential has their interns and contractors leave 5* reviews on the internet. This is a very clever move by them, since their natural review score might stop poor, defenceless sttudents from renting with them.
