I was a bit worried about some of the negative comments but there were also a lot of positive ones too so I went with Essex Fencing and I am glad I did. The quotation was very reasonable, Steve turned up on time and the work was carried out to a good standard. Everything was left nice and tidy when he had finished. Both myself and my neighbour are very pleased with the fence. Based on my experience I would definitely recommend.

Avoid this company at all costs

I won my court case against this company for taking money from me for materials he said he had purchased. Then told me when job wasn’t still finished 2 weeks later that the decking company had ripped him off. Had to get another company in to finish the job for me. After having £3,250 of my money all I had to show for it was a shambles of frame structure, 30 out of 74 lengths of decking, had to pay for the artificial grass myself for him to just quickly put it down, hack at it and never secured it with pins etc, just a shambles.
I applied for £2000 back at court they awarded me £2350 plus costs £280 should have paid by 25/11/20 he didn’t, he offered £400 a month, asked for bank details did he pay 1st Dec no.
Now has 2 CCJs against him, so please do not use this company or pay for any materials or you will end up like the few of us out of pocket, being lied to, excuse after excuse and ignoring your messages.

Indian Sandstone Patio 40 sqm

Steve constructed an Indian sandstone patio for us of approx 40 Sqm as well as some other minor jobs. A fixed price was agreed and despite there being several more tonnes of overburden to remove the price never changed. The end result is great - beautiful patio that looks perfect alongside our period home. The job took a little longer than expected but the price was 40 percent cheaper than anyone else so well worth the wait...! Have since recommended to friends.

Good work at a good price.

We asked Steve to replace some missing fence panels and create a new patio area for us following some extensive building work that left our garden looking like a construction site. Steve has not let us down - the new patio and pathway around the side of the house has fitted in seamlessly with our existing driveway, and has finished off the look of our house build perfectly. We are very happy with his work. I have reluctantly given Steve 4 stars instead of 5 due to some lack of communication when he didnt turn up on some weeks, but overall we are happy with our garden. We would use Steve again.
