Chiropractors work with the nervous system. When there is misalignment of the spine it can interfere with the nervous system, this is sometimes called a ‘subluxation’ or ‘trapped nerve’. When these joints are misaligned they can impinge on the nerves affecting how they work ultimately causing a myriad of problems and painful symptoms. These symptoms commonly include low back pain, sciatica, neck pain and headaches. Often, these misalignments cause no obvious symptoms and remain undetected for a number of years. By realigning the bones of the spine, Chiropractors remove the pressure on the nerves and allowing optimum function of the nervous system.
