voluntary membership-based, pro-public transport association

The voluntary English Regional Transport Association (ERTA) seeks the promotion and retention of better public transport. In particular we wish to see more local, conventional railway reopenings and rebuilds to correct the legacy of deficits following the closures of the 1960's. Glaring gaps exist in the rail network and if we are to see congestion reduced, more rail choices for passenger and freight are necessary to provide.
