I am based in Eccleston (PR7) , which is near Chorley, and around 8 miles north west of Wigan.

WHO COMES FOR LESSONS?

I've taught pupils of all ages over the last 30 years. Since moving to Lancashire in 2010 I have welcomed piano and keyboard pupils from Leyland, Chorley, Appley Bridge, Wrightington, Mawdesley and Croston in Lancashire, as well as Greater Manchester (Horwich) and even Hawaii (by skype). . Beginners of all ages are welcome.

For young children, parents may wish lessons to last 15 or 20 minutes at a time.

Pupils appreciate the balance I strike between pleasure and progress. Exam preparation is a speciality of mine. My own "mock" exam scores usually being at least within 7 or 8% of the actual: the most recent being only 1% out.

Great teacher with great knowledge

I thought I had left it to late in life to start learning something new but I had wanted to learn piano for many years. After searching the Internet for local piano teachers I came across Graham's website. In the 10 months I have been under Graham's tuition I have learnt so much. Looking back at my first lesson were I didn't know where middle C was to the level I am playing at now is quite amazing. Graham has got so much patience and can see, hear and rectify any mistakes made whilst learning a specific piece. Graham has so much knowledge and can explain things in a much more simplified way than maybe a text book could. I could quite happily not play a note all lesson and talk about music theory. At the moment I am being taught through Skype (due to pandemic) which isn't my preffered method however, this has not slowed down or halted my progress, nor have the lessons been less benificial. Graham just has a nicer piano than I have and I miss it haha. Great teacher and a top man

Highly recommended piano teacher

I have been having piano lessons with Graham for around 10 months, in which time I have learnt much more than I thought possible. The approach to learning is practical and structured, with emphasis on becoming a well-rounded pianist. Graham is flexible, accommodating and patient, with lessons tailored to the individual to get the best out of them regardless of level and ability.

I would highly recommend Graham to anyone looking to get playing the piano.

Brilliant

Graham recently got me the tough grade 5 theory and grade 6 practical. Really great teacher who’s extremely knowledgable and skilled. Couldn’t recommend more.

Relaxed, enjoyable and rewarding lessons

I have been learning the piano and music theory now for over 2 years and have achieved a distinction in grade 1 with Grahams tuition. Importantly I am really enjoying the lessons, Graham seems to adjust the pace for each pupil, just enough to push and encourage but not too much as to deflate your enthusiasm. The lessons have variety and plenty of anecdotes to help you understand and remember. The all round advice from his research regarding exams was excellent and being an older pupil this certainly helped prepare me for the challenge! I highly recommend Graham to anyone looking for the right teacher.

Very good teacher

I am an adult student and Graham has been my piano teacher for the last two and a half years. He is a very good teacher and I have made a lot of progress in that time, especially in sight reading. I have also been able to play a wide range of music styles (classic, blues, pop) which makes it a lot more interesting for me.
