Reviews
Simply The Best
5Duchy was recommended many times but to be honest I thought they sounded too good to be true.
But out of every company I had come round they were the most helpful & honest. I had dealings with the salesman, the office staff, the surveyor and obviously the fitters. They were all amazing.
Duchy was not the cheapest or the most expensive but they were the best without any shadow of a doubt.
I have now joined the many people that recommend them.
Very Professional
5Excellent Company
5Superb service
5Go somewhere else.....
1Be aware they are not as good as they appear....however
the fitters are great blokes. Incidentally i can prove everything with a poisonous exchange of emails. The irony is the product does look good when it dosnt leak...!! or the glass falls on you...!!
I am glad that you are pleased with the product and I agree our fitters are great. But I am sorry that you felt that you needed to review Duchy Ltd so negatively. We have thousands of customers, yes I know that a very small minority of them may not be happy with us, but I think any company that says it has never had a customer complain is not being totally honest. I was not going to say anything about this review as I think our reputation as a company which is known far & wide could withstand an unhappy customer. But I felt that saying the conservatory had started leaking again this year 2020 and we knew nothing about it didn’t seem right. Also the customer refers to me as the manager and that certainly is not right as I am the owner and I am very proud of it. Duchy Ltd has an extremely good reputation and we pride ourselves on good customer service and after care. So my answer to the review is as follows. If I can just address the leak first. Your conservatory was erected 7th January 2015. There were issues with a leak and also damp coming through the rendering (rendering was not done by Duchy Ltd.) It took a while I admit but eventually it seemed that we had managed to stop anymore problems. We asked you to contact us if you have any further issues with the leak. We heard nothing from you until you emailed on 18th July 2020 saying that one of your sealed units had shattered and no mention of a leak. I emailed you back with the following:- Dear **** We are not back to work until late June. If you can let us know which unit it is we should be able to look it up and get it ordered for you. The replacement will be chargeable as the guarantee does not cover broken or shattered units, I will get Paul to give you a quote once we know which unit has broken. You replied with the following:- Thanks for your promp reply, to save any confusion i think its best if you send some one to assess the type of damage and the exact pane which is damaged. I wouldn't want the wrong pain to be ordered. Anyone can visit our house from the outside and we can stay more than 2m away i.e. inside. Is this possible...? My reply:- Dear**** We can get Mark our estimator to call round on Wednesday 10th June at 9am if that is convenient for you. If you could let us know we can get you booked in. Social distancing will be carried out. You were advised from the very beginning in my email that it would be chargeable. As I explained to you in another email glass manufactures only guarantee units that have blown which means misted up with moisture, no manufacturers will guarantee a unit that has shattered/broken as this could have been done by a stone or bird if the outside pane has broken or by someone throwing something and hitting it if it is an inside pane. I am not saying that this happened I am just explaining that this is the way it is. I have checked every email that I have sent you and can see nothing poisonous in them, you may not like the fact that I have agreed to speak with trading standards when or if you contact them, or that I said that I would be happy to defend my decision in court when you threatened to take me there. Shattered Double glazed units can be replaced under your house insurance, as is normal practice.
