Drummond Brown Builders

We took this builder to court in 2019 and won the case. As it stood then we were awarded over 10k for remedial works. He folded his company (again) and ran off. His standard of work was laughable.
Has reopened as CL Builders - I guess there's only so many times you can use different versions of Drummond Brown

Based on our unfortunate experience, we would not recommend the services of this builder. Firstly, this builder is already known to Citizens advice as well as Trading standards, this information is freely available under the Freedom of Information Act. It is also worth mentioning that this company has folded several times previously under the directorship of Mr Lewis, information that is also available to the public via Companies House. We have no experience in building and we were relying on this company to deliver our extension as agreed. We were committed to spending a considerable amount of money on both the extension and internal improvements. We were excited to work with this builder as he seemed a genuine person with considerable experience. We were also expecting twins, so we were naturally excited to build a new family home. The result unfortunately left us homeless just as our twins were born. I've left a more detailed review under Google Reviews as the text is limited here

Craig Lewis of Drummond Brown Builders was contracted to build extension, remove wall and do internal refurbishment. Did not do work he was paid to do or follow architects plans. My extension now needs amendments to get completion certificate. Work that was done was neither of an acceptable standard, wrong trusses used, WC that can’t flush, shower that doesn’t work, shoddy unfinished tiling and workmanship, nor was work paid for completed externally or internally. No kitchen, cloakroom or en-suite. He also left my house, garage and driveway a mess with building rubble.
Basically all work undertaken was either incomplete or a mess or both. This builder is neither reputable or honest.
He took the money and did not do the work. Has traded under other variations of name Drummond Brown and is no stranger to court system. Happy to provide photographs.

We had Craig undertake full refurbishment of a run down property in Bearsden, he was courteous, quotes were well within our budget, and general building work was carried out by his trusted team in time and was of a good quality. Highly recommended.
