Established in July 1997, Dr Funkenstein has steadily grown in size and reputation, and we have a vast range of over 2500 fancy dress costumes for hire alone!! We also sell a large range of costumes to buy.

Based in Sunderland, in the North East of England, we offer both a traditional and contemporary fancy dress selection. The shop also carries a very large selection of accessories, wigs, make up and much more.

We have customers from South Shields, Washington, Houghton, Jarrow, Hebburn, Stanley, Durham, Chester-Le-Street, Gateshead, Newcastle and even Middlesbrough. In fact we have established quite a broad customer base throughout the North East since we opened in 1997.
