Dobbies cafe

In my experience the cafe has improved enormously over the past few months. Last year I was not pleased as the service was really slow and the food not special. But my last two visits over the last month were completely different. The waitresses were efficient and cheerful. Food was good.

Visited Dobbies Garden Center near Dorchester yesterday. I had read the restaurant reviews which were not exactly positive. Well we were very pleased with the whole experience. The staff were handling the COVID situation really well. You cannot sit at a table until you have ordered your food this saves anyone not having a table to sit at when served. Each table is cleaned as soon as it becomes vacant. The system worked really well. The staff were kept really busy, really nice and helpful when approached. We had a lasagne and burger both delicious hot and great value. Well worth a visit and we will be back again. Pat Drummond

Coeliac

Queued up for 10/15 minutes today for food. Eventually when I got to the front, I was told that I couldn't have the roast dinner. OK so opted for a jacket potato only to be told that they didn't have any. This was at 12.20 pm! The only thing on offer was a gluten free sandwich or toastie. Not what I wanted for Sunday lunch. We left unfed much to my husbands disgust as he was quite looking forward to roast turkey (he is not a coeliac.)
Definitely won't be visiting again.
