Make Derby Academy School Of Classical Dance your number 1 choice for a range of professional ballet and dance lessons. With over 50 years of experience we are proud of our heritage and are able to offer ballet and dance lessons that include:

• Cecchetti Classical Ballet Lessons

• Vaganova Classical Ballet Lessons

• Ballet Repertoire Classes

• Character Theatre Dance

• Modern Dance Classes

Our lessons take students from the initial stages of dance right though to the conclusion of lessons that enables students to take professional exams (ISTD & ARBTA Exams Board)

Typically our classes run as follows:

• Tuesday 5pm to 6pm - Intermediate Ballet (ISTD)

• Thursday 5.30pm to 6.45pm - Grade 2 ISTD Ballet Classes

• Thursday 8pm to 9.15pm - Vaganova Intermediate ARBTA Exams Board (By Arrangement)

• Friday 5.30pm to 7.30pm - Grade 4 ISTD Ballet Classes

• Saturday 10.30am to 12pm - Intermediate ISTD Ballet Classes

• 12pm to 1pm - Ballet Repertoire

• 1.30pm to 4.30pm - Dancing Classes (Rehearsals)

I can't recommend Derby Academy enough! Marija is not only an incredibly talented teacher but also genuinely cares about each of her students and goes out of her way to encourage and help in every way possible.

If you're looking for a place to learn and grow as a dancer, this is definitely the school for you!

Beautiful dancing - congratulations

Pupils of the Derby Academy performed at the ARBTA event this weekend, alongside other schools - many large, a few like the Academy, much smaller. Marija's pupils held their own easily, with grace and professionalism, with really beautiful dancing. I found it so touching to see this - and I know that my Mum, Eve Leveaux, would have been so proud of them all. Congratulations to all. Thank you for all your work.

Ballet lessons

Highly recommended Derby Academy. Our daughter loves going to her ballet lessons and has progressed so much in the time she has been there. Marija the dance teacher is kind, caring and a wonderful teacher. We wouldn’t choose anywhere else!
