Declan Quigley Upholstery has been established for 25 years and its longevity has been built on first class service and honesty - Declan will always tell his clients whether a piece can be effectively repaired or if it is worth repairing.This means that his domestic and commercial clients return to him again and again for both run of the mill work as well as specialist repairs and re-upholstery.

Declan's speciality is "stuff and stitch" on antique upholstery but he is equally proficient in modern equivalent pieces. He has noticed how a seat base tends to sag after a couple of years on some modern day furniture. Declan can use his expertise to re-seat what have sometimes become much loved pieces.

No job is too small or too big and everything is done with the greatest attention to detail, to the highest standard and at very competitive prices.

Re bolstering a settee

We have a leather settee that was sagging but the leather was still in good condition. We asked Declan to have look and tell us if it was possible to re bolster it. Declan came out and had a look and said he could do the job, gave us an estimate, which we accepted. He dismantled the settee there and then and said it would be approximately 10 days. We were pleasantly surprised that he was back in 7 days, settee reassembled and ready to use again. It has never been so comfortable. Very professional service and we highly recommend his work. Sofa and 2 armchairs 7 years old

Having read about Declan’s services on his website and some reviews it looked as if he would be just the man to sort out our sofa and chairs. As he points out, modern furniture can become uncomfortable due to cost saving measures in the construction ( weak springs, and little padding ). He came and inspected the furniture to see what he could do, and by taking out some staples we could see inside and he was able to point out what was needed. He gave us a quote for the work which we accepted and he took the sofa away to save time and travelling. He was able to retain the fabric while building up and reshaping the supportive padding which meant we didn’t have the expense of new material. We now have furniture which is more comfortable than when it was new, and because he is a professional craftsman we know it will remain so for many years. We would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

A whole new lease of life for a much-loved chair

Declan has made a beautiful, professional job of mending and reupholstering my classic 1955 Parker Knoll chair. His workmanship and experience are impressive and I have no hesitation in recommending his services. He was generous in guiding me through everything from choice of fabric range to aftercare instructions and advice on waxing the wood of the frame.
