This is De Winkel. Or for the non-Dutch speakers amongst us: The Shop. Based in London but with roots in Holland, hence our longing for minimalist, functional & sustainable design.
At De Winkel we love design.
Looking at a beautiful design makes us genuinely happy. But we need design to be more than just beautiful. It needs to inspire, lift our spirit and it needs to change lives.
We believe design can change the world and make peoples lives better. By surrounding ourselves with beautiful objects but also by ensuring that these objects are produced responsibly and that the designers and makers’ lives will be impacted in a positive way. Consumerism is not necessarily a dirty word but it can enrich peoples lives and empower designers and makers to shape their future. This strong belief drives us every day.
