Nasty Staff!
I will start by saying they have a great range of instruments at not bad prices but I will never buy from there after my experiences. I requested to try out a cheap guitar amp and they asked me if I was looking to purchase it or not and asked me if I would put a deposit down before I even plugged in. I said I was 90% sure I wanted it but was not willing to put a deposit down as I'd not played it in real life before (just seen online reviews). They seemed annoyed at this and after playing a lot of scales at high volume, turned the amp down to a ridiculously low volume and got a much cheaper guitar for me to play. After they gave me dirty looks while I was playing some music I felt embarrassed and just gave it back. They were smug about this and I wanted to leave. On the way out however I saw a beautiful acoustic and asked if I could play it. They said I could and I quietly sang and played a little song. The older gentleman shouted at me and told me due to copyright I cannot sing on the premises. When I told him it was my song and it was unreleased he became very obnoxious and said not to argue with him as he'd worked in the recording industry for 20 years. I was taken aback by his bullying and I left. In another guitar shop, they plugged me into a huge Engl Fireball with a PRS Custom 24 and they were very welcoming, allowing me to test a few of their products until I eventually made my purchase. It's a shame such a grand store has such awfully rude staff and I know everyone who goes in there feels the same way.

Dawson’s music store is a really big shop which is located on Portland street in between Pods and the Piccadilly hotel. It is rather a large shop and has lots of musical instruments on display, this is really good because not only can you have a look at them through the glass fronted window when you don’t have enough time to go in the shop. When you do have time to enter the shop you can have a proper look at the instruments and even have a little play on them! It is a friendly shop and the instruments are reasonably priced, so it’s worth taking a look if you are into music.
