Nice store but STOP FORCING YOUR PLASTCI BAGS ON ME

3
Please Daniels, stop forcing plastic bags on your customers, literally every time I buy something (even though I clearly have my own bags) my stuff is automatically put in a plastic bag and I have to hand it back, once even arguing with the lady that I didn’t want it and her saying I had to have it so security wouldn’t stop me! Seriously, you are aware of the environmental impact of plastic right? Please catch up with the times and stop using plastic bags, or at least stop forcing them on people

Poor customer loyalty

Daniels have a very short sighted view on customer service.

My wife bought a Gant jumper in their sale ahead of my birthday but when given it three months later, it was so overly large as to render it totally unwearable.

My wife and I have been loyal customers with them for more than thirty years and I have numerous other Gant jumpers in the same size all of which fit perfectly.

They steadfastly refused to exchange the garment despite my trying it on to show the obvious problem - insisting there was only a 14 day window for sale items.

Getting nowhere, I eventually turned to Gant themselves who offered a goodwill credit for the £60 redeemable at any of their own stores or on line. Their gesture paid off as I exchanged and spent another £300 plus with them.

So much for the lack of customer loyalty at Daniels however.

Shocking customer service

Shocking customer service
Shocking customer service. My daughter bought 2 pairs of socks from Daniel for a Christmas. I attempted to return them- no receipt but intact, clearly not worn and still with the original price tags. After speaking to several of the team and the manager I was advised that had she read the small print on the back of the receipt it specifies that underwear cannot be returned. In a world where high street retailers are struggling this seem like a rather short sighted approach.

I would be happy to discuss this with you further if you provide a contact (although spending my Sunday discussing it with your retail team didn't achieve much).

Do not order anything from them

I ordered a tempur adjustable bed and 2 x tempur small mattresses that goes with the bed. Long story short after two years of a legal battle I finally got my refund back from this dodgy company. The bed did not adjust and the mattresses did not fit the bed. Before taking legal action I tried to return the items a few days after purchasing the bed but I was refused and offered £500 to keep it. Don't buy anything from them.

Shocking customer service,avoid avoid avoid

I recently purchased a Barbour branded dog coat from Daniel in Windsor. Upon realising the coat was too big I returned to exchange for a smaller size, at this time I was advised there would be an £13 additional to pay. Upon enquiring as to why this was the case, it was explained to me that he first coat had been priced up wrongly, I promptly requested a refund on the coat so appalled was I with the customer service standards on offer here. Upon further thought I contacted the store both by phone and email (speaking with the store manager Albert) to explain how unhappy I had been with the outcome. At no point in time did I feel that anybody at Daniel had any interest in understanding my frustrations that their Instore pricing errors had led to. Avoid Daniel at all costs would be my advise, they have an extremely small minded and fairly prehistoric approach to customer service.
