Brilliant emergency service

5
Give credit where credit is due. My wife has been In excruciating pain for the last 24 hours and we went through the 111 route due to it being a weekend to get her an emergency appointment. She got given an appointment here on a Saturday afternoon and we came along, my wife was seen on time and she was very impressed and reassured by the professionalism, the service given and the thoroughness of the treatment.

just go to another clinic

If you are coming through NHS 111 don't come here! The nurses at the reception were lovely and kind, but the dental service is a 'your tooth can be taken out' kind of experience. My appointment was 30 minutes late, I wasn't treated even though I was in pain (the treatment was moved to 2 weeks time) yet I was diagnosed with a serious problem, that could even result in my tooth being taken out! On the day I thought this was the process, and I was understanding (yet very scared) but when I called the NHS 111 again in pain they didn't understand why this clinic didn't treat me (as it was an emergency appointment! Exactly for these kind of situations!). I went to another clinic, who helped me straight away and treated me immediately, and now I am pain and stress free. And it turns out it was nothing to do with the serious things the dentist in Crescent told me.

For your own mental security, and saving those extra pounds, just go elsewhere.

Refusing to see me under NHS

1
I have been a patient of this dental practice for many years. I have also attended all my appointments, and have always informed them, in advance, if I was unable to attend, due to illness.
I recently received a letter, informing me that I will no longer be able to see my dentist under the NHS, so will have to join their private treatment plan that is, in my opinion, not good value for what you get, not to mention that it is not a suitable option for everyone, including myself, so I am now left looking for another dentist that will take on an NHS patient. It doesn't seem to matter at all, that I am a type 1 diabetic who has previously undergone a double transplant, making my dental care something that I have to be extra vigilant about, as when I tried to make an appointment today, whilst I'm still with them under the NHS, they refused to see me unless I joined their private plan first.
Extremely uncaring service, treating patients in this manner. I'll be glad to leave this practice.

A really good, caring experience

My experience of the practice is highly positive. My wife is quite ill and she was treated with great care, patience and sympathy, and not for the first time. From reception to treatment room, her care was really good.

Disgraceful

1
Absolutely disgraceful behaviour for health care professionals to turn patients away when they are a couple of mins late. Allowances should be made for people who have to get public transport. Especially when a patient is clearly in pain. The NHS clinic I work in (which is not dental) would never turn a patient away when they are in pain. Caring ? No care whatsoever!
