Cowal Design Consultants was formed in 2005 to provide civil and structural engineering services in Argyll, with the vision of expansion from the outset. Since then the company has quadrupled its turnover and employed a number of staff. A second office was opened in Oban in 2010 and two further ones in 2016. Our area of operation now extends throughout the UK. Growth via reputation and referrals continues and we still have excellent client relationships, which were developed at the outset.

Between them, our technical staff have over 125 years’ experience of working on large and small projects; each are equally important to our clients! Almost unique to consultancy, we also have a construction manager with over 20 years contracting experience; thus we are able to offer real experience of build ability to our clients.

One of our key points of advice to our existing and prospective clients is to engage us as early as possible. This doesn’t cost extra! If we are involved at the early stages then we can work with the project team to develop designs and liaise with statutory authorities, ensuring that projects are progressed in an efficient and cost effective manner.

As a small, relatively young company we recognise that hard work got us where we are today and we think it’s important to put something back into the communities we work in. As a result we are sponsors of local charities and the Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust.
