As early as the 1960's, we were adding innovation to the fastener industry, supplying high strength friction grip fasteners. It was at that time that we designed and patented the ‘Coronet' Direct Tension Indicator. This ensured correct torque tensioning for high strength bolting assemblies. This innovative, time-saving product soon established the company as the world leader in structural bolting.

The best production of bolts and rivets

I left school in 1969 and went from a moulders job and straight into cooper and turners when they were based on Vulcan Road Sheffield. One of the best jobs I ever had the foremans were brilliant to work with I worked in the hot Rivet side of things making hot rivets from a quarter of an inch in diameter to the big inch and a half diameter. Really hot work in the summer but still a great job. There used to be 6 hot Rivet machines 2 man team on each machine. Then there was the hot bolt forging another great set of lads to work with, the hot bolts started from 6 inches to 12 inches long with counter sunk head or hexagon heads. Then there was the cold Rivet and cotter pin department the tool room department and the place where the fitters worked. Plus there was the heat treatment department then the steel yard where the steel bars was kept. Then there was 3 warehouse for keeping the sacks of rivets ready for distribution. Cooper and turners a great place to work.
