Great team at St Alban's office. I sold my flat with them recently that had several complexities. The team were super helpful and really motivated with potential buyers constantly been shown round. Communication was clear and frequent, can't rate them highly enough

I have used Connells 4 times and both bought and sold with the Chequer Street office. Doug takes his business very personally and is considered by me to be one of the good guys. I work in the marketing department of a large corporate banking firm and know a good agent from a bad one. CONNELLS ARE THE GOOD ONE - hardworking and ethical. Doug always rises to the challenge and works very hard not just to meet expectations but to exceed them. I used to find that challenging Doug worked, now I simply pick up the phone for straight forward advice with no flannel - I always recommend Connells as I get the personal approach, I am not just another customer but a customer that counts. I personally recommend Connells St. Albans, reasonable fees, great service and a can do approach works for me every time.

Connells Conmen

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are complete conmen. I got my house valued by Luke (who is now the Hemel Manager) he quoted a competitive price and negotiated a 1.25% sale fee, which I agreed. He then popped back to my house hours later, only to have my partner signed their terms of business at a rate of 1.5% fee. With the VAT this led to an increase of £1,200 that he stole from us. After I challenged him on this, he said that there was nothing that he could do as that is what my partner signed. I took my house off the market immediately and told him never to contact me again. He then called back 3 days later with an apology and told me that it would be 1.25%. After we completed my solicitor informed me that we had been billed for 1.5%. I was absolutely fuming and vowed never to use or recommend this company ever again until the stolen money is return.

I strongly urge you to consider using other more reputable companies in St Albans to sell your house. If you are to come across Luke, avoid like the plague unless you want to be the victim of theft.

That's an interesting review, one which as a director of connells I would like to address. Please consider that you post was made in 2014, Luke has not worked for connells St. Albans since 2010, or connells since early 2011. Please contact me at the St. Albans office directly and I will look at the detail and if genuine, look to resolve this out of date complaint, such is my comitment to attempt to satisfy all customers not just some.
