Dishonest Staff, Filthy Hotel miles away from Arundel, dont get fooled, dont book here

The hotel is a disgrace. The staff are dishonets and lie to the customers. first of all this hotel is not in Arundel. They advertise it as being 600m from the castle. Its over 2 miles awat from Arundel. It is actually located in a filthy service station on a moterway junction behind a Mcdoannalds and a petrol garage. It has takaway trash blowing all over its car park and is dark and dingy. I turned up after booking with them via Booking.com and asked for a refund. The receptionist Victoria lied to my face telling me that Booking.com would do a cancellation and refund knowing full well that yheir policy would prevent it. They just wanted to lie to you so they would not have to deal with a compaint that evening. Aparrently the staff dont feel a receptionists job is to inform teir cistomers or even offer a rebooking. Please Please dont stay here ... I booked that night in the "The St Mary’s Gate Inn" where there quality and service was superb and the staff where honest and helpful.

The cancellation policy for each available reservation is displayed clearly on booking.com before you select your room and when completing your reservation, followed by a confirmation email to the address you provide when booking. Your reservation was non-cancellable from the time of booking as displayed when booking and in the email sent. The information for our hotel on booking.com states that Arundel castle is 1 mile away. We have investigated the comments regarding our receptionist. As you had made your reservation though booking.com, all amendments or cancellations must be made by the guest via booking.com as per their terms and conditions. You requested cancellation of your booking the day before arrival, you were advised of this policy and left the hotel without giving our receptionist the opportunity to further explain the details of your cancellation. All members of our team must comply with these terms, we do not have the authority to override these policies.
