Only 5 minutes drive north from Whitley Bay, South Beach is a popular tourist destination offering a bay of golden sand, miles of beautiful dunes which are home to four species of rare orchid and prolific wildlife. There is plenty to appeal to surfers, cyclists, walkers, groups, couples and families alike.

With recently developed facilities to The Links including the new beach huts available to hire, a fantastic childrens play area, public artwork, an amphitheatre hosting an exciting calendar of events, the Dave Stevens Centre and the Blyth Battery Museum.

Disappointing

It use to be lovely but I was disappointed by my last visit: undercooked chips and robbed of my soft drink. The assistant appeared very ‘knowing’ somehow…

Awful customer service

Terrible customer service!The service was quick, we ordered fish and chip special & corned beef patty with chips & salad with a side of coleslaw, the fish was nice and thick but tasteless and the patty was barely warm as were all the chips, my salad didn’t come with the meal so had to ask for it, we also ordered chocolate milkshake, when that came it looked delicious but came without a straw, again…we had to ask someone for a straw only to be told, “we don’t have any but can put it in a pint glass so u can drink it!” Sorry but you can’t drink ice cream!!! so asked for a refund and a very stroppy lady came over and practically chucked the refund on the table, which was 50p short. Once we realised this we got our extra 50p. The milk that came with the large pot of tea for 2 was in a tiny little jug, so once we poured our first cup it was gone, couldn’t find any1 to ask for more milk so just left. Customer service was awful with the exception of the young blonde girl working the floor

Needs improvements

Great food but expensive.
The biggest issue is that the always seem to forget parts of your order.
3 orders.
1 was right
1 was missing an entire meal
1 was missing mushy peas.
