Four good bookings with City Cars

I have been using this firm over many years but have been particularly pleased with the 4 bookings over recent months where the were particularly important to us - all to or from our home in Lichfield and including round trip to and from a family funeral in South Buckinghamshire, a pickup of visiting family from Heathrow on Christmas Day followed by taxi trip for five with luggage to Central London on New Years day. On all occasions there was a prompt pickup at the arranged time, friendly pleasant driver and a good trip. Slight hitch on the Heathrow airport pickup where we did not realise that the driver needed to stay in the taxi and the passengers had to come to him but all resolved quickly on the phone.

Unreliable and unprofessional

We booked a taxi about a week in advance online. We got a call 5 mins after the taxi should have arrived telling us the price was now 3x the original quote and they would dispatch a car then. We agreed as we had limited options where we were. The driver arrived 30 mins later than the booked time, didn't arrive to where we expected them to be, and left after a minute before we found them. City cars then refused to dispatch another taxi, as they believed it was a 'prank'. Luckily we could get an uber, for a reasonable price, which we should have done originally but we thought they would be harder to get in the area we were in

TOTALLY LET DOWN BY CITY CARS WITH AN 04.30 BOOKING FOR AN 04.55 COACH PICK UP. NEVER USE AGAIN.

Totally let us down Friday with an 04.30 booking made and confirmed day before, for a 0455 coach pick up at Lichfield bus station. THEY NEVER CAME!! 0435 automated text message saying problem with your booking. Rang City Cars most unhelpful dispatcher who could only mumble there are problems. What problems we had rung and booked, had it confirmed, in effect a legal contract to supply a service. We made our own way down, dont ask how, just caught the coach. 10 minutes later phone call I have a car for you....said to late mate already on coach and away no thanks to you. What part of booking a taxi for 04.30 for an 04.55 pick up is it you dont understand! First time with City Cars, will be the last! Your choice if you use them but be warned. WOuld give them a zero rating but one star is the minumum you must use, not worth even that!

If you use this taxi firm, then you only have yourself to blame, they are truly the worst company ever, leave well alone, we booked well in advance for a taxi for the start of our holiday, and yes you guest it they didn’t turn up 😤😤😤 they said they had taxi booked for us 😤😤😤😤😤😤 PS Uber here we come

Stranded guests (including kids) for over an hour due to laziness

Had a wedding. 20 guests booked taxis two weeks in advance. None of them turned up. Left some guests over an hour saying 'we'll be there soon' before cancelling. Did they tell us they were cancelling? Nope. We only found out when we rang up. And then, when we finally got into the city, there were taxis everywhere, they just couldn't be bothered travelling 15 minutes out of the city centre for us. Do yourself a favour and go with Uber.
