Expert music tuition by a highly experienced and well qualified music professional. Chris Murphy, MA (Mus.Ed), BA (Hons), PGCE, ALCM, FISM.

Private one-to-one and online Skype tuition in saxophone (soprano, alto & tenor), clarinet, flute and music theory. All ages and levels of ability from complete beginners to advanced.

Distance is no issue. For those living outside the UK I am able to offer online tuition via Skype and currently have students living in India, Germany and the Netherlands.

I am also experienced in coaching students for GCSE, A level and ABRSM Music Theory. Fully DBS checked through enhanced disclosure for work with children and vulnerable adults. I have 40 Years international experience as both a classroom, instrumental practitioner and professional musician and, since 1975, have maintained a 100% pass rate in examinations with over 95% of my students gaining passes with merit or distinction.

Clarinet lessons

I have had clarinet lessons with Chris for over a year now.
Chris is very knowledgeable not only on how to play the clarinet but also regarding the history of music and past performers. He regularly includes this information in his lessons.
I have enjoyed learning to develop my performance skills and Chris taught me well enough for me to pass my grade 6 with distinction.
I am looking forward to learning more and with his continued clear advice and patience I hope to achieve grade 8.

Excellent music tuition

Chris has taught my 12 year old daughter the clarinet for nearly 5 years and now teaches my 8 year old son. Chris is a great teacher, enthusiastic and knowledge. He gives lots of invaluable advice about technique and introduces new repertoire to the children to widen their musical experience.
