My name is Craig from Chimney Genie - Sweep and Stove Service. My mission is to provide a clean, reliable and professional service to homes and families in East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire and its surrounding villages, whilst also offering excellent value for money.

I always strive to provide the best service I can. I am a full member of the 'Guild of Master Sweeps', but for me, excellence means more than a piece of paper. I am always happy to share my experience and knowledge about fires and how best to maintain and use them. I also make sure that I do “the basics” right. So if, for example, I may be running late due to unforeseen circumstances (some jobs take longer than others), I will give you a ring to let you know. In short, I treat my customers as I would like to be treated myself. To me, those basics are important.

Technically, I also have the latest and most efficient equipment for cleaning customers’ chimneys in East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire. That said I will only use the correct method of cleaning depending on what kind of chimney you have.

METHODS - 'Guild of Master Sweeps' endorsed

TRADITIONAL ROD AND BRUSH - Again using updated equipment with a click lock fittings on the rods ensuring none are lost up the chimney during the sweeping process. This method is still highly effective at removing soot and debris but gentle enough to ensure that the integrity of the stack is not compromised.

POWERSWEEPING - A high speed rotating brush head provides the most effective method of sweeping although these 'flail' sweeps can, over time, deteriorate the construction your chimney by knocking out the soft mortar between the brick joints. I only tend to power sweep clay liners or concrete sectional chimneys where damage cannot be done.

RESS VIPER - The Viper is basically a single 20m rod on a spool providing a swift but highly efficient sweep. Perfect for Range flues, Twin-Wall flues or Stoves with liners.
