Friendliest gym around

Challenge Fitness Centre is a friendly, family-owned gym situated between Bishop's Stortford and Sawbridgeworth whose aim is to provide real fitness for real people.

Whether you're looking to lose weight, gain muscle, or just get fitter, Challenge Fitness Centre has the equipment and the instructors to help you get there.

Housing an extensive range of cardio, resistance, & free weight equipment, as well as a sunbed and cafe area, Challenge is also incredibly friendly and down to earth.

You can burn serious calories and give your fitness a boost on our cardio floor, featuring the Fluid Rower, Cybex Arc Trainer, Technogym treadmills, Life Fitness cycles, and more.

Get sculpted in the area's biggest and best free-weight area. You'll find an extensive range of dumbbells, bench presses, squat racks, Smith machines, cable crosses, and more.

We are currently undergoing extensive refurbishment, with improvements to bathrooms, changing facilities, and a new kitchen on the way!

Best gym in the area!!
Always friendly with a good knowledge of the vast selection of equipment and machines, there really is so much to choose from and tonnes of free weights!!
Showers are amazing too and after a workout it’s great to set you up for the day!
There’s even a cafe area where you sit and have a pre workout drink, protein shake or one of the many other snack/meal options they offer!!
Loads of free car parking spaces there too!! :)

I’ve trained in many gyms over the years, and I can certainly say this is one of the best, it’s friendly, has a great atmosphere and the staff are friendly and really helpful, Wayne who owns the gym is always around to give advice and is very approachable, he always finds time for his members, 10/10

This isn't just an affordable gym, it's the best gym I've ever trained in!...

I've never had to wait to get on the equipment... - There is loads of space!... There is a variety of equipment...This might not seem like a big deal to the casual gym goer but to those taking their training seriously ..., it's great to know they have every piece of equipment... The members seem friendly and the staff have been great... This is not a flashy, corporate, ultra modern feeling... Thanks to the Challenge Fitness team and Wayne for having a great place to train!

I’ve been a member of Challenge since 2017, it’s a good little gym with loads of different equipment to use and all your cardio machines upstairs. It’s a good atmosphere with helpful staff. I wouldn’t train anywhere else for the membership price 🌟😀
