Reviews

Not recommended

2
Very poor level of responsiveness. A very simple job with the promise of drawings in a few days, took weeks, with me following up by phone and receiving 5 broken promises of delivery dates. The quality of work was mediocre to average, but the disorganisation was much worse.

Shocking company

1
Shocking company. Paid £504 for a report, promised they would deliver on a number of occasions, but never did. Will have to resort to a small claims court.

Me34234 - Thanks for the review, interesting that you have an anonymous username, please confirm who you are? I suspect that you’re the client that appeared to be spoiling for a dispute/argument from day one, clearly looking at your profile history you appear to make a habit of leaving negative reviews. For the record, we agreed a fee verbally, confirmed this in writing and issued an invoice, only for you to dispute the agreement. Nonetheless, we honoured the reduced fee, carried out the survey and issued the report. As our terms and conditions letter issued to you clearly states, we do not release our structural reports until we have received payment, unfortunately this is necessary to avoid prospective purchasers not paying for the report, because they have had a change of mind and do not proceed with the purchase. Summary of dates: Client contacts us on 4thAug, we undertake house survey on 13thAug, payment received for report on 20thAug, report issued to client on 25thAug

A great group of skilled engineers with wide experience and a cost sensitive approach

5
Our company have been using C&W over 20 years now and we love their approach. This is a tight- knit group of very professional and EXPERIENCED engineers who have been able to meet every single engineering issue we've thrown at them over this time. It's all done in a cooperative, cost conscious and pleasant manner with site visits when needed and discussions at length where there's a variety of options. The thing is that all the local engineers are busy to the point of overload so no one's any quicker but the C&W approach is clearer and simpler for the layman to get to grips with. I've even had a couple of them come out and advise on the physical methodology of HOW to do the job before now, which is great because it avoids costly errors. Due to overloads the whole industry suffers from, C&W can be somewhat slow at times but the trick is to remain pleasant and ask if you can pop in on a specific day to collect the report: Never fails! All in all the best engineers we've ever dealt with.

Still no Building Survey Report after 12 months!

1
Very poor service. We booked a building survey which was carried out in September 2017 which included test holes dug for review of impact of tree on sewers and foundations. Despite having had to pay for the drainage inspection work, and having chased repeatedly for the survey reportwe still have not received the survey report 12 months later and I receive no response to emails or telephone messages.
