Business overview

Carr Farm at the heart of gardening !

Carr Farm has been run by the Jones family since the 1930Â’s when Joseph Jones took over the farm. During the Second World War he was commended for his efforts in potato production.

For a long period of time, the farm had a dairy herd and the courtyard lays testament to this. There was a thriving farm shop on site where fruit, vegetables and various dairy produce were sold.

Gradually Dave and Sue took over the running of the farm and it became apparent that Carr Farm would need to take a more garden related approach, in 1982 Carr Farm Garden Centre was formed.

Customer Service - a total disgrace

1
We were a party of 3 arriving around 4.p.m. We ordered scones with jam/cream with a drink. After waiting a few minutes, as the staff were of the opinion that their cleaning routine was more important than serving us, we placed our order with a rather unfriendly lady. When the order came, we had to return to the counter as the cream for the coffee was missing. The scones were just about acceptable (presume they had been there all day) and the cream for the scones came in a tiny little pot which was suppose to be sufficient for 3 of us. Again we had to return to the counter and ask for more cream and again met with an unfriendly approach from the Assistant. The staff then commenced their cleaning routine which involved sweeping around us whilst we were eating - that was the last straw. This was in fact my first visit to this Restaurant and most certainly will be my last. A total lack of customer service does not deserve the business.

What a great garden center.

We made our second visit recently to Carr Farm, having not been too impressed the first time. Well what a transformation. I can't tell you what they have done (a lot) but we loved it this time. A large variety of seedlings, plants and small trees, something for everyone. But that is only the start. Fish, gifts, furniture, many plant pots and a great cafe are also there to enjoy. At the back are a few other shops including a craft shop selling wool but also pot painting for kids. A very pleasant atmosphere to calmly enjoy potting around. Excellent.

Extremely satisfied customer

5
I have been a regular customer at Carr Farm for 19 years, ever since we came to Wirral. I have seen them gradually progress every year but their service, help, research and advice have always been kind, patient, friendly and informative. It is easily the best Garden Centre I know!! At the moment we are looking for a greenhouse.
