Littlest pub in Harpenden
4
The Carpenters Arms is another one of the few proper pubs in Harpenden - serving excellent real ale as well as the usual other drinks options - and having been rewarded by CAMRA for its efforts.
It is without a doubt the smallest pub in Harpenden, and is quirky in a way that only "real" pubs can afford to be - the opening hours aren't long (opens for the evening at 5pm if I recall correctly), and don't always seem to be adhered to - though that could be due to camping out in another nearby establishment waiting for this place to open!
Has a small beer garden, and a car park is adjacent if you have a nominated driver to ferry you home. One warning - don't make the mistake we almost did when trying to find this place. There is a building on the same road with a pub sign, but appears this is just someone's home - the almost certainly deserve the attention they get, attempting to imitate a pub!

the 'pretend' pub was the George II. When it closed in the 1980s a condition of re-sales is that the pub sign is retained for historical reasons. Most sober people will realise its no longer a pub
