Exceptional Service - without Lisa's advice and customs paperwork for the UK (export) & France (import) there is no way we could have made a successful first time freight trip to France. When we received the green lane customs clearance we were so relieved. Out of thirty five companies that we originally contacted to help us with the customs paperwork to take our personal goods in our van to France, Carousel Freight stood 'head and shoulders' above the rest.

We are a retailer of sun hats from the USA and beach towels from China. After being let down by the carriers appointed by our suppliers, we decided to find one ourselves that coud take care of both.

Carousel are professional, competitive and working pretty much 24 hours it seems! Not only did we get our goods sooner than when we were using the suppliers people, Carousel were cheaper too (not that this our main focus, but it was a great bonus!) The difference we found is there is no 'wishy-washy' answers to anything: if they hadn't heard back from the USA/China for some reason when expected, they'd be straight on the phone to them even if it was before or after normal working hours.

Can't recommend them enough.

Moving home from Singapore back to the UK, I was concerned about the high costs that Singapore movers were quoting for the short part of the journey from the Port of Southampton to my home in Bournemouth. I also had concerns about my things being picked up at a UK port by an unknown firm, appointed by the Singapore movers, with which I had no contact.

I therefore found Carousel Freight online and, over a series of phone calls and emails with Lisa, I quickly became comfortable that I was dealing with a helpful and experienced local company. I also managed to save money by appointing Carousel in the UK.

Lisa was always able and willing to answer my many, many questions, and I’ve become almost an expert in international freight shipping, given how much she taught me! Moving home across continents is a stressful and time-consuming process, so it made all the difference that I could feel comfortable that my container would be in safe and expert hands when the ship arrived in Southampton.

The delivery to my home went very smoothly. The trailer driver, and unpackers, arrived on schedule. The work was done efficiently and cheerfully, all the packing refuse from my furniture was taken away, and nothing was damaged.

Finally - some people, and blogs, had warned me against appointing separate firms in the UK and in Singapore. It would be a bureaucratic nightmare! Things would get lost or damaged in the transfer! Nobody would take responsibility! Not so. Lisa handled all the paperwork with the Singapore firm behind the scenes, and she promptly kept me informed of what was happening and when, or if she needed something from me.

Overall, highly impressed. A good, personal, professional and local service, and at a good price.

Moving back to Canada was made a whole lot easier thanks to the people at Carousel. From the people in the office to the drivers in both UK and Canada, we were impressed throughout. We were moving our entire house contents and the container arrived with everything intact and it was all delivered inside too. Can't find fault.

It was a refreshing change to come across Carousel with a much more reasonable cost than some of the astronomical ones I had received. I think they are quite small as I dealt with Lisa throughout but was impressed by the service. I have some more bits to go across next year and will defintely use Carousel again. I packed everything myself to save money, except one fragile, antique lamp that Carousel professionally packed for me. Everything ended up in Australia in one piece and at an acceptable price.
