One to one piano, singing, songwriting, composition and music theory lessons for all ages from 7 years old to adults.

I am a singer, pianist & composer, and have taught singing and piano for more than 20 years; including teaching singing and piano at the BRIT school.

Past students include West End Performers, Professional Actors, and Pop / Rock singers - including Adele who I taught for more than a year before her BRIT school audition.

As a composer I have supplied music for various BBC radio programmes including the Radio 3 Essay Series; The Music Of The Spheres.

I have a very flexible teaching approach and vary my style of teaching to suit each student's individual needs. I am happy to teach students either with music notation, from chord symbols, or by ear.

I also teach song writing, composition and music theory as well as piano and singing. I offer lessons combining two elements or more together, for example singing songwriting, or composition and piano. I teach all skill levels, from beginners to advanced students, with a usual minimum age for students being 7 years old and no upper limit.

For me, the most important thing is sharing the joy of music making!

In addition, I offer preparation for ABRSM, Trinity / Guildhall and LCM Musical Theatre and popular music graded exams.

I offer a diverse range of musical styles including (but definitely not limited to) - Classical, Pop, Rock, Folk and Jazz music.

If you're already a performer, I can offer you ongoing Coaching and Refresher courses for professional singers & vocalists.

Inspirational singing teacher

Carollyn was my son’s singing teacher for approximately 10 years. My son is dyslexic and has ADD, Carollyn was always patient and understanding. She had a superb rapport with him. He continued singing lessons with Carollyn, despite stopping school choir during his mid-teens. Carollyn kept him motivated and he achieved Merits or Distinctions in all his ABRSM exams (Grades 1-6). Carollyn suggested he move to LCM popular music vocals, which he much preferred during his mid/late teens. His completed his Grade 7 last year and achieved a distinction, which was due to Carollyn’s persistence and guidance. Carollyn was completely flexible during covid and seamlessly moved to online lessons when face-to-face lessons were not possible. Carollyn would always go the extra mile, transposing tracks into the correct key when my son’s voice broke.
I would highly recommend Carollyn and cannot sing her praises highly enough - pun intended!

Passionate and patient teacher

I have been learning the piano with Carollyn since November 2021 and feel I have made a considerable amount of progress in a short space of time. Carollyn's enthusiasm and patience has made learning basic things enjoyable. Having had bad experiences with music teachers in my youth I am very happy to have found someone who has made me more confident and willing to learn.

Carollyn clearly puts a lot of thought into her lessons and I would recommend her to anyone at any level.

Great Piano teacher

Carollyn has been teaching Piano to my daughters, one for the last 6 years and the other one for the last 2 years. What a journey with an amazing teacher. She taught my eldest daughter starting from Grade 3 and now she preparing for Grade 8. The youngest is preparing for Grade 2. She is passionate about piano teaching. She would arrange events yearly for playing piano and singing for her students either in her house or outside. She encouraged my daughters to attend National competitions (Watford Music Festival) and my youngest daughter last time achieved a second place in one of the piano competitions. I recommended her to many of my friends and their kids have been her students for few years now. I would definitely recommend her as a great Piano teacher.

Professional teacher and superb person

Mrs. Eden is a teacher of our daughters for more than 3 years. She is truly professional. Our girls have got first prises in several musical festivals. Their marks of ABRSM grades are very high.
Carollyn is not just a teacher, but she is also superb person and our daughters are very comfortable studying even quite complicated musical plays with her.
We still remember pre-COVID-19 chamber concerts at Carolyn's house. It was very interesting and valuable to see all her students together and their progress over the time.
We'd recommend Mrs. Carollyn Eden as a music teacher for your children and even yourself without any doubts.

Singing Lessons

I have had singing lessons with Carollyn face to face and more recently online. On all occasions Carollyn is patient, gives clear instructions and advice, is very knowledgeable and as a singer, composer and performer, she is inspiring. The advantage to having Carollyn as a teacher is that the lessons are personalised and she works with you to improve your confidence and ability.
