Under no circumstances leave your cat at these kennels. The owner is a rude and unfriendly, no care or attention shown to customers or more importantly the animals they are to care for. We left our cat there for 30 minutes after being so upset by the experience of leaving her there. We weren’t allowed to see the pen, weren’t allowed to leave her own bed, blankets and weren’t even asked what food she ate. On collecting her she was in a dark concrete cell with no daylight, cowering in a corner. Absolutely shocking and disturbing. Do not even think about leaving a loved pet here,

My two dogs stayed at Carlton Kennels for the first time in March. I was able to come and look around beforehand and saw several pictures of them having fun during their stay. I then booked a shorter return visit in July. When we arrived, my girls jumped out of the car and couldn’t get into the kennels fast enough. Great peace of mind knowing they enjoy their little holidays too

I did my research and went to visit before leaving my dog for 18 days. It seemed ok. I returned to find his tail hair had been cut very short and very badly apparently because the hair was "so matted". He had an untreated abscess and on close examination a large scab on another area of his body. I took him straight to the vet who prescribed antibiotics and painkillers. This was a clean, happy healthy well groomed dog when I left him. My vet told me he must have been in considerable pain. I already felt bad about leaving him now I feel terrible for making such a poor choice. If I could leave less than one star I would.

My two lurchers recently stayed at the kennels for a week. This was their first time in kennels and decided to go with Carlton as they had been recommended. Had a look around before I booked them in and could fault the service, my girls had a great time. Will definitely use Carlton again. Thank you

Im a very worried owner when putting my dogs in kennels, and now I am looking for a new kennel to put them in, thought I would leave a review from my last experience.
when we first dropped my 2 dogs off here they did not ask the names of our dogs, or if they were vicious (which I thought was strange if they was to walk them? or let them play with others). they didn't check our vaccination records which they told us on the phone we would need... so already start of my holiday I was very worried.
when we picked them up my partner thought they had been washed but they had just been sprayed with dog spray to make them smell better (which makes me wonder why? had they left them in there own wee all week?)
both my dogs had lost so much weight like they hadn't eaten all week (may have been worry, but doubtful as they have always been fine before) and as someone else said... they both came back with kennel cough, flees, we was not allowed to see where they were been kept, was told to wait.
