Carleton Lord Carpets Ltd

The business was established in 1962, having previously worked as an agent for Cyril Lord Carpets (no relation), widely regarded as the first person to bring fitted carpets to the general public. For over 60 years we have traded in Bridgwater, serving the whole of Somerset.

The original incarnation of the business was a small shop on Penel Orlieu until a fire destroyed the premises during the miners' strike of 1972. The business then moved to a Grade 2 listed building in Chilton Street, first built as a flour mill by Spiller's of Bridgwater but subsequently used for other activities as diverse as cider making and basket manufacture. In 2008 we relocated to a trade unit at East Quay.

We are a family run business, who are still very much involved with the day to day operation of the business. We carry a wide range of flooring, rolls of carpet and vinyls in stock, along with hundreds of remnants.

We are proud to offer a personal service, where the customer comes first. There are no pushy sales people, and we offer helpful and impartial advice to all our customers.
