Carisbrook Day Nursery

WMB Cornerstone Day Nursery is situated within the Harpurhey Park at the heart of the Harpurhey community and caters for the Moston, Monsall and Harpurhey community. It was formerly used by Manchester City Council as a Play Centre and was subsequently taken over by WMB Childcare Ltd with a view to support the Manchester City Council fulfil her vision of increasing the number of 2 year olds who have access to early learning opportunities within the Manchester community.

The PCS premises is a multipurpose building with great features and highly meets the needs of the children that attend. The premises was refurbished in 2014 and custom built to provide a stimulating environment for children from 2 yrs.

We are open five days a week from 9am to 6pm. The nursery caters for children 2yrs to 4yrs old and also offers the 15 hrs free entitlement government funding for eligible children in meeting the needs of the families within the community. From 3:15 pm to 6.00 pm, we cater for the after school children up to 11 years of age.

The day to day running of the nursery is under the direct supervision of the Operations Director, along with other staff members forming a happy team. The staff team at PCS work closely with the children to enhance their learning and development. The staff team comprises of levels 6 in childcare up to level 2. We also have apprentices and students who we help to achieve their life long goals of becoming childcare practitioners. The staff team is balanced in qualification which meets the EYFS requirement.

The nursery is able to take a maximum of 34 children each day and has quite a number of before and after school children. The Nursery is an annex of Carisbrook Day Nursery and receives support from the team. Our children at PCS is a good mix from different cultures. A majority of the children are white British and we have children of different cultures and ethnic backgrounds with differing first languages.
