One of the oldest Home Improvement Agencies in the country, Care and Repair (Northamptonshire) was established in 1987 with a mixture of funding: from local and central Government, donations and charitable trusts. We are an independently managed charitable business (Reg IP25783R) and work closely with a number of other agencies and organisations.

Over one third of owner occupiers whose homes are in need of major repairs are pensioners. The necessity to repair and improve a home and find the money to do so often uncovers other problems of a physical, social or financial nature that are contributing to a person's difficulties. Many retired homeowners or disabled people, for example, are unaware of their rights to benefit, grants and other support services, or are reluctant to claim them.
