Cosy, Central London wateringhole

I love this place. The food is not great, but for drinks with friends its perfect. You can usually get a table, especially if you avoid the pre and post theatre rush and the place as a relaxed, warm atmosphere. They don't rush you off your table either. It is true there is one particularly charmless member of staff who marshals people inside once their out-door license expires with a breathtaking lack of charm or manners. However most of the staff are polite, friendly and attentive. They accommodate dietary requirements where they can and offer a decently priced (for Central London) wine list.

Awful - do not go here!

DO NOT GO HERE! I would give this place zero stars if I could. Terrible service, possibly the worst I've seen in London. We bought several bottles of wine (which, wasn't good) so we could sit outside (since the weather is unusually warm right now). What they didn't tell us was that within an hour of us ordering, we would need to vacate since the crowd standing outside the stage door for the nearby Daniel Radcliffe play was going to get larger. So pathetic. They told us this only after we'd drank about half of what we'd ordered. At this point they told us that it was a legal licensing issue (but couldn't produce anything to prove that this was true). They then told us they would refund our money but then changed their minds. The owner and one waiter were particularly vile. Whatever you do - do not waste your money on this disgusting excuse for a bar.

Amazing

Walking into this restaurant, you are instantly greeted by friendly and extremely polite waitors/waitresses, namely Pino the most attentive and smiley of all waitors in there, where no request is too much. The atmosphere oozes romance yet creates a comforting homely feeling brought about by the dim lighting from flickering tea lights on every table and the perfect volume jazzy type music. You instantly relax knowing you are in good hands. The food is exquisite and perfectly cooked, the portions are ideal and the wine is not something to be missed (I recommend the Portugese red wine).
