Independent Family Funeral Directors

As a well established family company, we endeavour to give a personal and professional service at a very difficult and distressing time for you. We will call at your home to make all the arrangements or, if you prefer, you may come to our office at 19 Woodborough Road. BS25 1AB. Your wishes are of paramount importance and we will make every effort to carry out these wishes. We have a vast amount of experience of conducting funerals for many religious denominations as well as non-religious and green funerals. We also carry out non-attended, direct cremations, sometimes known as "Pure" Cremations from the TV adverts.

We are members of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) and the National Society of Allied Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF) and abide by their strict code of practice. We are also appointed Funeral Directors for Golden Charter Pre-paid Funeral Plans, Golden Leaves Funeral Plans and Age UK.

We hold a charity day every year to raise funds for various local charities.

Perfect service.

lyndsay, Sue and the rest of the team were a delight to deal with, totally professional at all times and always very respectful when dealing with my late father, but also very much in tune with us and our needs helping to make the whole process as easy and painless as possible.

Outstanding Seevice

Lindsay Lawrence and her team at CV Gower were outstanding, from the moment my father died - ‘He’s with me and not causing any trouble!’ - through to the funeral. Every aspect of the process was carefully discussed with us so that we felt we were fully involved, while Lindsay took on all the hard work. She appears in people’s lives at the worst moment but has an amazing ability to help you to get through it and come out smiling.

Local, efficient and helpful

I wanted to support a local business. C V Gower were advertising in the village journal and from a quick chat with them it was clear they were sympathetic to my requirements and they were brilliant. Efficient and helpful at every turn that was one less thing to worry about following my wife's death.

A very professional service

We found that C V Gower Funeral Directors provided a very professional service from the initial phone call through to the day of the funeral and beyond. Lindsay Lawrence was very supportive and caring in helping us to make all arrangements for the funeral and Order of Service. On the day of the funeral Lindsay conducted all proceedings with great respect and dignity. We were very pleased with the quality of the flowers and the hearse and family car were in an immaculate condition. Both drivers took great care during the last journey through narrow streets to Banwell Church. On arrival all of the pall bearers were very smart and well dressed and were obviously experienced in the etiquette of their task. We have no hesitation of recommending C V Gower at what is a very difficult time.
