Bushblades Farm
BushBlades Farm is a small family run farm and farm shop located in North Durham. We specialise in rare breed meat and game. Our animals are all free range, grass fed and include vulnerable and endangered breeds listed on the RBST Watch-list. Our stock includes British Saddleback pigs and 'Native' Aberdeen Angus
We have two pillars from which we operate; animal welfare and product quality.
We also produce small round bales of fantastic quality haylage each year, taken from our traditional, mixed grass, pesticide free meadow fields which are all naturally fertilised.
we butcher on site and provide meat joints and a variety of sausages to our local restaurants and over the gate customers.

Saddleback Pork joint

This is the first time i have bought pork from the farm and was slightly nervous having always used the same supplier. Christmas lunch is an important meal and to move away from my comfort zone was a huge step. I needn't have worried. I followed the usual cooking times but added apples, onions and sage top the water to the pan. The crackling was crispy and full of flavour. The meat was delicious, fell apart as we carved and was very juicy. We used the pork juices to make the gravy which created silky viscous gravy for the lunch. It is apparent the welfare of the animals is a priority from the flavour of the meat. I cannot sing the praises of this farm enough!!! I'm now a devoted customer

Alpaca walk.

A fantastic day for a Mother’s Day surprise walking with Alpacas.
The location was stunning and the Alpacas were gorgeous. We learnt a lot about the Alpacas and farming life.
The family were so friendly and welcoming, we had a brilliant time.
We purchased some bacon from the farm shop which was delicious.
Would definitely recommend this as a great day out.

Brilliant experience walking the alpacas! The team were very friendly and knowledgable and the sausages they produce at the farm are the best I’ve ever eaten! Would highly recommend!

Amazing pork chops.

Tastes how meat used to taste so different throm the fast grown cheep pork from the supermarket. Full of flavor and the fat was like butter. Proper cracking as well.
