bubbascan ultrasound clinic is a business born out of a very personal story. Investment banker Chloë and Chiropractor Joe didn’t let Covid affect their plans for marriage and starting a family. They celebrated their nuptials during the 2020 lockdown and 2 years later happily discovered they were expecting their first child.

At 14 weeks they had a ‘pregnancy scare’ and endured an anxious wait until they went for a 16 week reassurance scan. Whilst they experienced awful uncertainty and several sleepless nights, fortunately all was well and in Jan 2023 they became very happy new parents.

However, at that moment they also realised not every pregnancy journey is one of joy and had their story been different, the environment at the clinic that day is not the one in which they would have liked to receive heart wrenching news.

Based on their experience they decided to open their own scanning clinic in Poole, Dorset, near the relaxing and beautiful shores of Sandbanks. Bubbascan would deliver a professional ultrasound service, quality scanning images and photos, with high end customer care. More importantly, it would provide something they didn’t have on their journey. A safe, calm place where women and their partners could sit, breath, sip a warm drink and process the results of their scan.

A private space with reassurance and information about the next steps, be it the celebration of 20 fingers and toes denoting twins, the extra care needed for a low-lying placenta, or the ‘what happens’ when a pregnancy is not to be.
