MRS AMY BIRD
I found my perfect dress at the NEC show in 2010, paid for it at the time and was expecting to get married in September 2011. Due to unforeseen circumstances my wedding had to be postponed, and the shop first and foremost said that it was not a problem and they would honour a credit note to the shop when I was ready to redeem it.
Roll forward to 2013, when a date was a gain set for August 2014. I rang the shop and immediately they found all my details and were happy to honour the credit note. i picked the same dress again however slightly different fabric, as it was being made to order. So yes it cost more money, but considering I bought the dress initially 3 years prior that to me was expected, and it was a minimal amount extra.
I also have 8 bridesmaids, all of varying ages and living all over the world, so the logistics of getting them together is a nightmare, so currently we are in the process of going to the shop every month with different bridesmaids to be measured for their dresses. Again the experience is great, and as one of my bridesmaids is from Holland and they don’t work in inches they actually gave her a tape measure to check her measurements haven’t changed nearer the time.
I don’t know what some of these negative reviews expect from a shop like this, but these guys work really hard to make your dream dress, and ensure that you get what you want. They have years of experience, and I would trust them to make my perfect dress.
I would highly recommend this shop, its hard to consistently offer great customer service, but as I visit the shop often I am never disappointed.
No customer service they just want your money was even lied to by staff member about when to pay balance
Nice at first until they get your money then all changes
Not helpful at all moneygrabbers stay away!!
Please do not be put off by the bad reviews as the dresses at this shop are out of this world and I can confirm the dresses are made there as I watched the ladies hand stich beads on with my own eyes!! Thank you ladies xx
The FIRST thing I was asked was what my budget was...I don't even think we got a hello. When I said I was looking at around the £500-600 mark, the lady told me I would be really 'restricting' myself with a budget like that (even though I had tried on other dresses on at some lovely bridal boutiques that day at around that price range). When I told her I was looking for something lacy, she sort of scoffed and told us the lace dresses they had were upstairs, but there wouldn't much in my price range. I asked if we could have a look anyway and she reluctantly led the way. We got up there and immediately she pulled out a hideous 'lacy' dress which was at the top end of my budget, basically telling me that I wouldn't be able to afford anything else.
She then asked to see photos of what I had already tried on elsewhere. My sister by this time was losing her patience with her but showed her the photos anyway. When my sister mentioned that the dresses I'd tried on were beaded lace, she gave us a lecture on how they weren't beaded lace and how they wouldn't be very well made.
I also mentioned at one point that I'd been into Debenhams and they didn't have any dresses in-store, which I thought they had done in the past. I said that you'd have to order them online and I wouldn't be comfortable doing that. She then lectured me once again, saying that I most definitely shouldn't order a dress online, as 9 out of 10 brides who do that, end up throwing them away and buying a new one anyway....
Don't get me wrong, there were some lovely dresses in there, they're just very expensive. The whole time we were in there, it was as though she was laughing at me and making out I was too poor to shop there and acting as though she was above me. If you're business is to provide a service, then provide that service without being so rude.
Oh, and yes, the title of this review is a quote from her. We didn't know whether to laugh...but she was being deadly serious.
I would not recommend this business.
they all got measured and we were then told to go back in 6 weeks. when we went back and the girls tried the dresses on. most of them needed alterring. not a problem and understandable but they then asked for £15 per dress to be altered. i was fuming and irritated. they are so unprofessional and rude its untrue. i would never advice anyone to go there
They are more interested in getting your deposit in the till than actually giving the happy, helpful service every bride deserves when choosing a wedding dress!
In January I visited it with my daughter who is planning her wedding for September. We were made to feel uncomfortable right from the start, "the sale rail is there"???, we had shown the lady a picture of the type of dress my daughter wanted, we were told we wouldn't be able to get one like that and were continually told that whatever she had would have to be ordered now to get it in time for September, they then kept showing her different versions of the same style of dress over & over but they were totally different from the style of dress she wanted, my daughter is about 5' 10" & 16/18 so not massive she was finally made to try on a dress she didn't like, which was a size 10, there was no attempt to fasten it, & there were 2 women standing around, I believe the "managers" "owners" they were rude and unhelpful, my daughter said she didn't like it and one of the managers said "It's not what you like, it's what suits you". I beg to differ, needless to say we left rather quickly and it spoilt what should have been a lovely day for us both. I'm not surprised the shop was empty. I would not advise anyone to go there and I have heard nightmare stories since from girls that have bought their dresses there
Thoroughly recommended for any bride-to-be.
