Nice food, not so nice staff

2
Was absolutely gutted, as we reserved a table for an anniversary. The food was lovely but was made to feel uncomfortable by glaring staff, and overheard our relationship being questioned. We will return to the place as the food was lovely but would of been nice not to have people talking about us whilst we are trying to enjoy our night

Becky is a star

Visited Victoria Park Brewers Fayre for the first time recently having just moved into the area. Unluckily are first visit was a poor experience meals took a long time to arrive and were only warm , our Black Forest desert was filled with berries rather than cherries making it very sharp , but being the easy going types that we are we just accepted it . Our friends were staying in the adjacent hotel hence a second visit the next night , this time it was not so busy and our meals arrived quickly and hot as you would expect , when it was time for desert I decided to check if they make the Black Forest desert with cherries , this question was made to Becky the manager and on explanation of our previous night desert immediately apologised being aware of the error and offered a complementary desert for that evening.
So it's down to Becky that there are 4 stars instead of 2.

Had been to brewers fayre several times on weekdays always excellent value and lovely well cooked quality food.thought i would try the sunday carvery what a mistake, pigswill is an understatement.the beef was like a black victorian rugby ball.would have lasted a good few years on a hikers boot.the slop ,i mean veg,the cauliflower cheese or or should i say the cauliflower white liquid was tasteless.the roast potatoes looked like they had been lifted from a rock garden, you needed a pneumatic drill to get them off the plate.the orange mushe that i assume was swede, looked and tasted like something a sycodeiic cat had disregarded.well the mash you could have added a few bricks and made a lovely wall.the boulders i mean yorkshire puddings where like polystyreen beach balls, that is until they hit the p,,ys thin gravy where they turned into a well soaked bathsponge.didnt even touch the lumlnous purple splodge.walked away from there with a bad taste in my mouth.felt like i had been robbed.gutted
