Disappointed customer

We tried the restaurant yesterday and found it very disappointing. The food seemed well cooked but was cold when it arrived at the table. So the food either got cold waiting for service which needs improving.

Disappointing service

1
Very disappointed today this is my second time trying to return an item bought from Black brook garden centre. I bought something from the gift area 2 months ago. When I bought it no where did it say I could not exchange or refund. I came back today to try again I was willing to exchange but again I was told no refunds no exchanges ( managers policy) I asked when I could return it the assistant did not know when. I can’t understand WHY I can’t have a refund. Before Christmas I spent £1,000 on garden furniture. I told the assistant I will not be buying from blackbrook garden centre again until they start giving a better service to customers I am most disappointed. Every where else are offering refunds or exchanges. You can put stock into isolation for a small time.
I believe this will not be good for your business going into the future.

We visit this Centre at least once a week, with our little friendly dog.
Our drinks are already for us on arrival, the scones are huge and full of fruit. I cannot praise the staff highly enough, and feel sad when reading the disparaging remarks about everything.

£50 note

1
Visited today selected several items and went to pay. Staff refused £50 note even though it came from the bank. Spoke to rude manager who said it was the owners policy - no signs to say this anywhere!! Left without the items totalling £37 and will not be returning. The pet shop (same site) accept £50 notes!!!

I needed a large pot and emailed them as the manufacturer said they stocked the right size. Jess replied and spoke to me on the phone, putting one (of only 2 and I live 50 miles away) to one side. Jess met me at the garden centre, sorted the right pot, sorted the bags of compost to fill and arranged for it all to be carried to my car. I cannot fault them in customer service and my added thanks go to Jess for being a star and helping me.
Ok, it's gone the way of many garden centres and has concessions on site, several of which were still setting up when I visited today. I didn't look at the clothes, but it could be the calibre of the concession that lacks. We did try the coffee shop, cakes were lovely & staff friendly, menu reasonable and others agreed.
At a time when many small businesses are struggling to survive, the vicious circle is if no one visits they don't have funds, no funds no improvements. I didn't find it dirty or scruffy, no worse than many small private garden centre
