Great day even in the cold

Little pricy but well worth the money. Had a great day even in the freezing cold. Might go again with grandkids if I visit the midlands again

A great trip back in time

This was a great day out, never sure what the kids will make of this type of 'educational' experience but they really enjoyed it especially the mine. It was a bit of a rainy day when we went so great to be able to duck in & out of shops & houses all day

I took a trip back in time when I went to the black country museum, it gives everyone a lesson in times gone past, it has plenty to see and do there and there is a lot to experience while you are there.

You need quite a bit of cash with you when you go as it can get quite expensive but as day out goes its great for young kids and adults but be weary of the teens as they will get bored easily.

It has a nice sweet shop and a wonderfull chippy but make sure you dont make the same mistake as I did. There are now two chip shops one sells the chips cooked in beef dripping and the other sells it in vegitable oil. I went to the vegitable oil one last time and it was box standard but the beef dripping one is very tasty but sickly after a while

As musuems go there is not a lot to do there but look at old building and get beaten by the teachers on the school, the mine is a great experience too but remember if your tall you gonna be in for a hard time.

Black Country Living Museum

The Black Country Museum as its name suggests gives visitors a taste of what life was like in the Black Country in years gone by. The museum has been developed by moving buildings brick by brick - cottages, chapel, swimming baths, public house etc. and is situated right on the canalside which played such an important part in the daily lives of black country people. There's a lot to do and see here - an old fashioned funfair, go underground into a coal mine, buy things from the traditional shops and go into the cottages to see how they lived. There's a school, a working pub(the Bottle and Glass), ironworks, chainmaking shop and loads more. Take a trolley ride to the museum from the ticket hall and see the museum guides dressed in costume who make it come alive. There are lots of places to eat and drink but if you want the really tasty fish and chips you will probably have to queue a long time even before the shop is open! Our visit was really interesting but could be a bit pricey with the admission and what we spent inside. As most of it is outside, hope that the weather is dry when you visit.
